Wilted Tulips, 2025-2026

The tulip series began one fateful day when my building’s 100 year old boiler kicked on to full blast and left my freshly cut tulips limp with sudden heatstroke. Struck with a combination of grief and awe, the image of their lifeless forms heavy and draped over one another stayed with me for almost a year until I decided to reimagine it in clay.

I’m currently working on a large series of tulip sculptures varying in stem quantity, clay body, glaze, and form (some in vases, some wall mounted) for an upcoming solo show at Treadwell Gallery in Provincetown, MA during the summer of 2026.
